January 13th l Building the Foundation

    • This practical 90-minute virtual training equips Head Start HR professionals and leadership with the tools to create clear, comprehensive job descriptions and position classification systems that support the 2024 wage requirements. Participants will learn how to conduct job analyses, write descriptions that differentiate between career levels, and build logical career ladders that justify pay progression. The session addresses common pitfalls such as wage compression, title inconsistencies across sites, and pay inequities between Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start positions. Through interactive exercises and real-world examples, staff will gain actionable strategies to align job descriptions with competitive pay scales, create transparent advancement pathways, and ensure internal equity—all essential foundations for meeting the August 1, 2031, compliance deadline and building sustainable workforce systems.
